Have you tried to mount the MG somewhere?.....anywhere?!
Finding somewhere to place the MG (that also doesn't get you targeted instantly) feels like a a game within a game.
HLL is a shooter not a puzzle game.
Once they fix this, then yes a bit more recoil would be reasonable.
You have to ADS in game to be accurate with the MG42. So you are basically made to take baby steps when hip firing it. Yes, in close quarters, this can be deadly and feel overpowered, but it is historically accurate.

I do agree though, sustained fire with the MG42 while hip firing is insane. The recoil should get worse, not to mention the barrel would melt at the rate of fire people are currently allowed in game. I've seen some early videos of HLL in Alpha stages, where there is a barrel change on the MG42 being done, so hopefully in the future, they will add overheating to the MG42 and the need to change the barrel at high rates of sustained fire.
Yes to this
Possible solution for excessively long bursts:
If prone and mounted - the barrel overheats, requiring (press R) an animation to change barrels.
If standing then - you get occasional jam requiring (press R) animation to unjam.
Also maybe the inability to reload when running, it was after all nearly 13kg not including bullets.
A 4 second reload while running seems a little fanciful.
Possibly make reload take longer while standing than prone / and impossible while running??
Seems logical??
i hit several stnanding enemys from around 70 meters away with short bursts
but when you fire this thing on fulll auto its your own fault and you shoulkd use other classes
even in usage of the b ipod the mg is pretty uncontrollable in longer bursts but when you fire short one wit works well - just look

short controlled bursts (its an mg 3 i know but it shows how to handle a light machine gun)
I tend to agree, if you aren't trained well in RL you can't hit the barn from the inside using hip fire and int he game if you haven't used it extensively the MG42 is all over the place.
When in hip fire, the MG can be pointing off centre.
This means, those that put the hours in will still become good at it, at very close range they'll still be dangerous with anyone.
But, those using monitors with a cross hair and those without practice are unlikely to land with thier first shots past 20 - 30 yards.
Nah. I can mow down people at 30-40m with the MG42 no problem. As soon as you open fire it puts the enemy in a world of hurt already by the sheer amount of suppression is puts on the user. Your aim might be off. If you aim slightly below the center of the screen it crawls up and kills.
Agree, compared to the .30cal it seems very weak, even in short bursts, shooting at any type of range its horrible, like im shooting blanks, its supposed to be 1000-1200 rpm and is no where even close. If they are gonna nerf the mg42 accuacy, at least make it 1200rpm... i can kill way easier/faster with .30cal.
Similar to the BAR vs STG, bar is literally a 1 or 2 tap shot kill, stg seems like it takes half a clip or more....7.62 vs 7.92, higher velocity vs lower, u get hit with either u are in big trouble...
As far as hipfire goes, animation update will hopefully make it easy to setup a mg anywhere, atm its a friggin nightmare, so many deaths cause cant set it up with proper angle, so keep hipfire as is, stryker's vid clearly shows it is very effective with hipfire, assume we all use the correct stance !
