Add Reverse Friendly Fire for TKers.
If enough people select 'Don't Forgive', have it so the Tkers damage to friendly players is reversed to them, so they take the damage instead of the teammate.

Its an elegant solution that we used to use in PVP shooters from back in the day.

It takes a lot of stress off the admins.

Jeah a "punish" system would be nice. Worked quite well in BF3 hardcore servers.

Its a good addition.

That would actually be an elegant way to handle TK as autokick features simply won't work, as they'd punish accidential TK the same way as intentional TK'ing. Abusive behavior should always get managed by an admin.

Just for those that dont know how this could work:

If someone TKs you, you get the chance to kill them in return, via typing "!punish" in the chat.

If you do the guy that teamkilled you will die and get a screen message saying: "You got punished for teamkilling by XYZ".

This is an elegant way to handle TKs since it gives the suffering player the option to handle the situation himself. This prevents frustration.

I remember quite well how it would play out in BF3 hardcore servers. If someone TKd you and he would write "sry" in chat - then Id let him go. Mistakes happen. If not - well he would get his own medicine;)

Worked perfectly!

No, he meant that if he apologized, there is no point in punishing him, since it wasnt intentional.

Punishing sounds like a decent idea, but what if I accidentaly killed a team mate with a tank at 600 meters away. So he punish me by killing me and then tank is left with 1 less crew member, not great especially in a sticky situation. I honestly very rarely met team killers, so I'm sure admins can handle a couple of trolls.

some sort of player statistic/tracking works the best for intentional tk'ers imo. visually flagging them as tk'ers and increasing their spawn delays...

don't imagine they'd hang around long if it took them 5+ minutes to respawn...

you guys know that there is a punishment system in the game?

Yeah, it's as effective as a neutered dog.

Part of the realism in this game is friendly fire. It's bound to happen, most of the time it's unintentional. It's just a part of the experience.

There are just too many situations in this game right now, where friendly fire is almost impossible to avoid. Harsh punishment would be unfair because of the mechanics in the game currently.

-Guy gets shot while he's about to throw a frag and manages to blow up 5 guys around him.

-Tank shell blows up on a twig of a tree or a fence post in front of the Gunner and blows up 4 or 5 guys around the Tank.

-Commander lays down a bad bombing run and people don't listen or pay attention to the map and blow themselves up in a bombing run.

-People running into the middle of your MG fire and you manage to frag 2 or 3 guys because they sprinted in front of you.

-People running in front of Tank's cause they aren't paying attention and it's impossible for the Driver to stop in time.

-Bazooka, Panzershreck or AT shells blowing up on a tiny tree or a piece of barbed wire and blows up multiple friendlies.

It would be unfair to punish players for most of this situations that occur in almost every game. These are just some of the reasons why they haven't implemented a harsh penalty system for TKers.

It's up to the admins of servers to take care of abusive players who are taking advantage of the friendly fire and purposely killing people.

+ But it could ruin the "realness" of the game.

Or a yellow and red card system.

I dont think it should kill them if you punish them which is in a since what you are talking about. Maybe subtract from skill points in a big way if that player decides to punish. Or maybe after the players 3rd punishment it autokicks. Players can tell if something intentional has happened or it is just collateral damage and to that its really up to human decision to punish which we all know how that goes sometimes. There has to be some consequence or deterent but killing them may have adverse effects on resources.

I think an auto kick for the third punish is fair and would keep everyone honest. I very rarely tk 3 times in a match but accidents happen but if i made three accidents i should be kicked. It will make me be more careful about my gameplay.
