Since the ballistics update has been put out I figured the devs would've commented on adjustable sights in general, especially with the upcoming animation update, but we'll have to wait see unless Jonno wants to chip in.
For small arms, adjusting sites is usually a gimmick/a nice feature that lets you manipulate your weapon like in real life. Practically speaking, you'd really only adjust your sites for targets well past 400m, firefights at this range are few and far between and your target will probably be behind cover by the time you've finished adjusting.
I'm all for it...eventually, if anything to amp up the realism a notch...Again, I'm sure it'll help the odd time, but I doubt any one would really use it with any regularity outside of the weapons mentioned as the engagement range simply isn't there on a consistent basis.
