if you are in a team, you have an observer so no problem driving a tank there
Although, that was from a while ago. They may have changed they're mind... But, i've not seen anything to suggest they have.
this is the perfect answer.
share your sercrets with us, your wisdom on how to turn your turret 160 in 2 seconds while aiming down the sight
sitting behind a bush on the edge of the map doesnt count as playing
I've done quite well as a solo tanker. Most crewmen want to drive forward and get bazookad or knocked out. I place my self in well hidden locations and obliterate tanks that come in my way.
It really depends on the experience of the player.
That being said I would prefer to be in a tank crew that knows what its doing.
I'd rather have an armoured pill box than nothing, especially if they know how to tank.
Locked solo squads are another story.
Same here.. many times playing with a random tank crew is like being just passengers and waiting to die.. I prefer to play solo with a light tank that no one takes rather than going to a Sherman/Tiger with a crew that doesn't know what to do. But whit the right crew is more fun other than effective.
+1. Some spotters just don't know that periscope can be rotate by 360° and tanks get rekt from behind whit some bazookas. 2 crew man is the best combo allowing the driver to spot better positions, as well as being the only ones who care about keeping the tank alive :D
Personally I love the idea of being able to turn out of the hatch. It's a fair trade off between increased vulnerability to infantry small arms fire and increased vision. Plus on some of the tanks it's realistic and quite common for drivers & tank commanders to turn out in order to get a better sense of their surroundings. Keep in mind the optics in these tanks were very rudimentary, so they were only utilized during combat.
yes this is what i'm trying to say, plenty of crews left their hatch open for better view but also to escape quicker offcourse.
Doesn't surprise me that you are the type of player to deny the right of two other players to enjoy or learn or even actually help you in a Tank. Just because you want to stack your score and play rambo Tank.
Some of my best games and best crews have been new players who I taught as we went. It's not THAT hard to gun and spot, and most players will pick up the roles as long as you guide them. So it's complete BS to complain about new players, players who don't know how to play.
My best game ever, which I posted a screenshot on my showcase on my profile, was a three man crew. We destroyed 19 Sherman's and over 100+ infantry. I couldn't remember what my gunner said his Infantry kills were.
All of my best games ever in a Tank were with a three man crew. I've had countless games where our combat score was over 1k+. And that's not just sitting back and sniping either, that's shelling objectives, getting into multiple engagements on defense and offense with other Tanks as well as being the spearhead to push objectives.
Can you be effective in a two man crew? Hell yeah. You can be effective as a solo tanker too, but nothing beats a three man crew. I've even had great games with players lately that said they bought the game that day.
Solo locking Tank squads and rejecting players entrance is scummy asf. It's the kind of player this game doesn't need.
