Pointless in Asia
The game is dead in Asia. Four official Asian servers at 8pm on Sunday, and they are totally empty. Nearest server with any players is an Aussie server, which is always full, and can't queue for. Not gonna play further afield where my ping is over 200.

maybe instead of going "there aren't enough players in my area, I quit!" ...you could try to encourage folks in your area to get the game? o.0

I don't have time to work PR for this game, got my own full time job and kid to worry about. While I see the servers are well populated in Europe, it is non-existent in Asia. Even if I could get a few players involved, we would still only be 4 or 5 players in a server. I don't really know that many gamers in my area who would be interested in HLL, which is why the idea of online gaming appeals....but not if there are literally zero players in the regional asian servers.

Ok and what is the point of this thread...its not something anybody to fix.

Either refund the game if you are under 2 hours or suck it up and join servers with 200 ping.

You don't have time to jump in a large group chat or a group chat for people looking to play games and ask if anybody is interested in playing HLL (Maybe even in the HLL Discord or HLL Steam group chat)? Hell from there on just setup a basic group, invite the existing Asian friends you picked up (Make them or whoever wants to be an admin to help or just setup the group profile completely) to play HLL, and over time other Asian players may find your group or be invited by other group members.

Can't say it is a 100% success, but it is a turn key operation essentially with minimal effort. In the time it took you to write this post you could have already asked if there are any other players interested in multiple group chats.

Edit: Don't know what nationality you are, but here you go

https://steamcommunity.com/groups/ChineseGroup

980 in the chat and a discussion board you can post in with a large number of Chinese (And potentially other) Steam users.

Well, looks like you are out of luck then. You get what you get or you get what you create.

Anyways, i asked in the official discord, and was met with silence.

Which sucks. I'm not trying to criticize you, I just believe you at the very least need to ask before you complain. Nothing is ever gained unless you put some effort into it.

I think i learned my lesson supporting small multi-player games such as HLL. They just don't seem to have any appeal in this region. Given that HLL requires a significant number of players to effectively play a game, it seems unlikely that Asia will be a successful area.

I can still log into cod4, bf4, and play local servers immediately. I know they are big franchises, but they are extremely old games now.

Actually when there was a free weekend for HLL there were plenty of ppl playing it on the asian servers. I remembered 3 out of 4 were full all the time. Thats when I decided to actually purchase it just to find out after the free weekend almost no one played it.

sad to see since i had plenty of fun walking around receiving or giving orders.

Hey there,

As you're probably aware we recently activated some new Asian servers, which we announced in a recent Dev Briefing.

We know that we can absolutely make more noise around this to make players / potential players in the Asia region aware and will take action to do so in the nearish future.

Before we do though, we're just locking in a few more things. Once this happens we will keep up the momentum in the region to support players from that area.

I'm SEA as well and get the Aussie servers at around 160-180 ping. Ping is good enough for me and I always manage to get in their servers.
