50y is 150 ft.
That 45acp bullet would take 0.160 seconds to travel 50y.
Lets assume your target is running at 9.09 MPH (or 13.33 ft/s (repeating of course)), perpendicular to you
In 0.160 seconds that character would run 2.13 ft.
If you aim AT the center your running target @ 50m, you'll miss by about 2 feet behind their center.
In conclusion, welcome to ballistics and lead your shots by firing slightly in FRONT of a moving target.
Edit: 10MPH to 9.09 MPH. If someone could calculate in game running speed, that'd clear things up considerably.
IMO all of the weapons in HLL currently are a bit slow when it comes to bullet velocity.
I do not believe that the Thompson needs ANY nerfing as it just now after the update became a viable weapon. The MP40 could still use a little love.
Over all the gun play has improved a great deal with the addition of the ballistics overhaul and personally I feel like this is far from the last enhancement that small arms is going to receive as the game progresses.
some textures are smaller then their hit-boxes, and its a real pain
Game is in development and can easily change. As so much of it has already.
There's a good reason you are doing better with a sub right now.
Prior to the Update when we still were using hitscan the full auto weapons also used a cone of fire so the Thompson seriously suffered under this combination. Now that hitscan is no longer the standard and the cone of fire is out of the picture you can actually hold the Tommy on target and single tapping the trigger actually helps you land shots at greater range. In testing I was able to score a few head shots at 200m.
It is slow, but I think it should hit harder.
