Aiming Artillery Intro Guide
If you want to play as artillery create your very own infantry squad. You can choose to lock it or not. The sole purpose of being a squad leader is to be able to hear command chat so you know where to shoot and know what is going on.

Command members will place markers on the map, 'm', bring it up between firing to see what is going on.

When it is time to aim your artillery you will notice that the HUD markers disappear, extremely annoying, and you will not know where the target is.

To bring the HUD back up press, 'T', this will show you the markers once again on your HUD that you saw on your map. However, in 1.5 seconds they will disappear again. Press 'T' as many times as needed.

The distance in meters will be displayed on the HUD marker. Use this to calculate the range and adjust accordingly. You have 2 methods for this.

1) use the simple MIL conversion on the side of your screen. Innaccurate AF.
2) download an amazing HLL artillery calculator, or go to HLL artillery calculator website.

Benefit of using the calculator should be obvious. A member of Command that is accurate AF with their marker will get an artillery shell that is Accurate AF.

Major targets for ARTY:

1) ARTY strike call in by Command member
2) Garrison or Outpost Markers

Things not to shoot at unless told to do so:

1) Tanks. They move. It takes time for your shells to get down range. 9 out of 10 times you hit nothing.
2) Infantry markers. It takes time for your shells to get down range. Often times friendlies will push into the area your shells are hitting.

Things not to do:

1) Waste rounds. Press the 'M' key to bring up your map while you are alive. At the top of the screen are the teams resources. You will see an AMMO box on the top left with a number next to it. Each HE shell costs 5 ammo resources. Each smoke costs 3 ammo resources. When the AMMO resource gets to 0 no more boom-boom.

How your team will fail ITSELF every time:

1) failure to build nodes.
2) Nodes increase the rate at which your team gains Ammunition. (default is +3/minute).
3) Artillery, tanks, bombing runs, and straffing runs all require ammunition.

Intro to ARTY. Learned the hard way today. Sharing so you don't have to.
