Perhaps if you tread very lightly but...
If you are watching over an area and zooming in to get a closer view, and you want to move your position while keeping your eyes down the barrel, you need to let go of the Shift key, wait until the transition between holding breath and not holding breath has happened (about half a second), then move. The only other option when you move is to fully take the gun down to the hip, move, then aim back in, but this method may cause you to lose sight of any targets you were tracking.
and i'm not even talking about moving... i'm just talking about shooting stationary vs. moving your torso... add in MOVING YOUR BODY, and your talking about all kinds of need to lower your weapon... stability, surveying your surroundings, etc.
video example;
https://youtu.be/dWkaowTZoCc?t=213
only ever moves his torso, and still has to stop 'aiming down sights'
it just sounds like you're asking for the gun to not move at all even while you are... which is a very arcade FPS shooter style, and something i'd rather not see in the game.
...this isn't Serious Sam ;)
The current system is semi realistic, you hold a position, aim, control breathing/slow heart rate, and pop off shots.
holding your breath while trying to move while aiming while carrying 110lb+ of gear is just completely absurd, whether here or IRL
If you want an arcade game where you have lazer aiming while jumping and flying through the air 20ft high and killing a dozen enemies before your feet hit the ground, go play call of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or whatever its called these days...
...moving them or rebinding them doesn't seem to stop the 'original bind' from trying to do its thing.
especially annoying when trying to change the 'interaction' button.
but your issue is totally different than OP's apparent request for gyo-stabilized wire-guided aiming.
