Still high ping.
Hello.
In HLL I have high ping all the time.
Even at the European servers which shows me 50 ping in main menu. When I join in I get ping at 150 at the best, 200 at the mean.
I must say I have this problem only with HLL. Squad and Post Scriptum works fine.
And no.. I am not downloading anything.
Thanks for all tips and advices.

It's not ping as shown in the serverlist, it's RTT (round trip time) that also includes the processing (frame time or 1/tickrate) of the server (it might even include overhead from the client too). Thus best case you're looking at double the serverlist ping plus roughly 40ms frame time and on a overloaded/under powered server during intense combat running at a low tick rate, it can be much much worse.

If it is worse, find another server that isn't as bad or complain to the developers or server admin to see if they can optimise the game or upgrade their hardware respectively.

Really the developers should remove it as it's completely misleading and add a traffic light system that shows you the in game health of the server or give us real ping.

Are you using a VPN? Thats the only reason you'd get a crazy ping within your region. Any boosters? Weird ♥♥♥♥ like that?

Nope. Just windows, steam and hell let loose. On normal wifi.

I have the same issue, sever browser shows 50ms and after joining the server it shows as 110-140ms.

Thank you!
All the server's are "official" only and provided by a few companies that charge loads for a crap shared service (you could rent your own dedicated server for a fraction of the cost if you have the expertise), g-portal seems the worse.

Hence why we get people complaining they lag on all the FR or UK servers when the likes of g-portal are experiencing peering issues, as there is zero hosting diversity. Dev's probably don't give 2 sh!ts either as I imagine they get a rake-back on hosting exclusivity.

Regarding the tick rate, it's between 10-25 if your own ping is anything to go by... no way to really know for sure though other than you can tell when the server's having serious issues when you drive around in the tanks and you get horrible jitter moving (as vehicle lerp lag compensation is crap in UE4) or when you try and drop a deployable like an OP/mine and it vanishes straight after setting it.

For large slot count (80+) games like Squad, Postscriptum and PUBG that use UE4, 40ms frame time or 25Hz/FPS is about as good as it gets. There's an interesting article here on what PUBG did to optimise their servers for people interested in this topic:

Maybe in Update 200 we might got something similar...
