PS

Yeah, I saw...heard that when waiting for a tank a few days back.
Good thing there's no olfactory mechanic in the game ;p
Nail on the head. "Waiting"
Devs take note. If you want to help take the edge off defending a base, then add more of these little interesting environmental confections. Context sensitive sound effects that you only notice because you are defending and not running around with shells whizzing everywhere.
I really think it could add something to the immersion.
Logically, wildlife sounds would likely return to a place where there are less bullet sounds. So have a proximity and time delay on wildlife sounds returning. May be have a deer or rabbit take its chances darting across the field.
And cancel the bird sounds when then the firing starts. Was defending with MG from a window for 5 mins and could still hear bird sounds right outside the window. Now that is some ballsy wildlife to do a dawn chorus in the middle of a firefight.
Also think the wildlife could be a great way to help spot enemy movement:
Imagine seeing a flock of startled birds take flight from an otherwise quiet corn field as enemy crawl through it.
Or birds in the trees where you are quietly waiting for attackers go silent as enemy squad approaches.
Or deer/rabbit bolt from hedge/forest as something startles them.
These would make great little atmospheric touches not to mention give a tactical edge to those who have the awareness to see the signs.
Yes, 100%
The last up date added an entirely new sound engine. Expect new sounds in the future.
