I've heard voice over may come into play later...much more relevant now that we have specific markers for different enemies (tanks, inf, OPs, garrisons, etc) as before you'd only be yelling "Look at the eyeball!"
+1 Good idea.
While playing as SL of a recon squad me and my sniper where doing overwatch and I thought of the ping system as non verbal signal like point towards the enemy, like aiming with your hand..
one might think why didn't they do that.. they must have had a good reason for that.
all i know that it's not that big of an issue and it sure help if you got a squad that plays together.. they can all focus in on the enemy even when voice comms are down.. as unfortunately that was the case for a few games..
Agree, 100%. We have mics. The mic communication is always better.
There will always be shy or anxious people who don't want to chat away, giving them a ping system is nice for them I guess, but now there's nothing to encourage them to use the mic at all.
I don't mind leading a silent squad, but there's something so much better about "127, 100 meters, houses" and now I'll be sure to hear it less.
