Worried about uniform unlocks
As much as I love the idea of these new uniforms and skins, I cant help but worry that it will totally ruin what makes the game great. Immersion. I know people enjoy progression systems and all that but having winter uniforms on non-winter maps seems silly. What happens in the future when you've got every single one of your squadmates wearing a different uniform? I know the devs want to find the right balance between customization and realism but they may have to set some sort of restrictions in place.

Isn't the new airborne uniform going to replace the base skin? I didn't think it was a cosmetic.

If it is, that sucks.

Agreed. It would be nice to hear from the devs on this issiue. Are there any considerations for map locked skins for the release?

If they have it restricted in two categories: winter and summer it is fine as long as they don't go mixing SS stuff with wehrmacht(seems to be happening already) but I am not expert on this.

I'm pretty sure it'll be a "high level unlock" which would be so strange. Having that 1 rifleman on the your team be some airborne guy while everyone else is infantry and one dudes just wearing a white helmet in summer.
when i see footage of the eastern front Germans and Russians , i can not help but notice how different each soldier looked, yet you could tell they were part of the same army group.

from white helmets, to white helmet covers, to different smocks, to different gear placements, to regular helmets and almost every combination imaginable.

so i do think that it is realistic to have different variations of winter/summer uniforms.

the white helmets in summer maps is just player laziness and has nothing to do with the devs, honestly.

Devs, please keep your ideas as is, this from a satisfied.

costumizations are a must, and it is rewarding for players who progress well

teammates just need to rise teamview tags to 500m+

Well, in war separated soldiers would be pulled into nearby units and stuff like that. It wouldn't be too immersive breaking to see a paratrooper in an infantry squad.

Yeah but once you've got soldiers wearing white helmets in summer and then what? I'm all for customizations but they should be more of accents rather than total new uniforms... Have uniforms with rolled up sleeves, overalls, different coats. But make sure that it fits into the context. Players shouldn't be storming the beaches of normandy with random uniforms or colorful attire that they can wear because of their level. If not, it'll lose part of what makes the battles in this game so unique.

I think its totally fine to have customizations. As someone else said: Gear placement on the body, some sort of details on specific uniforms is fine. But they should lock winter gear to winter maps and such... or something of the sort.

I do agree about that. I said in a different post that i'd like a loadout for each map. So you don't have to worry about changing it, it just changes for you.

I doubt people want to have a white helmet on Hurtgen.

i can agree that they should make it so what you have unlocked changes to the map setting i dont know how people can change their attire during a map change since they have to go back to the barracks to do so but if they make it so that they have a separate winter and summer character customization this will satisfy people who want immersion and make it so that people can show off what they have unlocked with their levels and make it so they can auto change during a winter and summer map change over

You can change outfits and helmets in a game on the select class screen. Most people don't even realize that they have a trench coat or white helmet on.

I used to wear my great coats on all maps after I unlocked them...a bit of an ego thing I'll admit.. However I now try to wear the proper gear as the map suits.

It's actually very easy to change your appearance in game when you redeploy, but I'm sure some players are unaware, others like myself want t show off and yet more just don't care.

I'm in a wait and see holding pattern until after the XP/loadout rework is implemented and then we'll see how that shakes out.
