After 220+ hours think I ran into my first real hacker...and HLL doesn't have a reporting tool
Joined defense on one of the dday maps earlier tonight. Match was already 3/4 over and the allies took a sector just after I joined.

Once they started reaching the next objectives I kept getting killed out of nowhere. After 220+ hours I can tell where and why I got shot except in rare circumstances. This time it was though smoke, through bushes, through hedgerows. When I went back to carefully look in the same place I saw no one. Usually I can see the faintest body part on my 34" monitor. But this was nothing ... except getting killed again.

I looked at my nemesis on my stats page- "Rambo" with 6 kills. Then 7. Then 8. Single shot kills from out of nowhere. Felt just like getting killed by a hacker in battlefield. All this happened in about 5-10 minutes by the same guy. I don't get killed that much by a skilled arty or tank player in a 2 hour game.

On the scoreboard, Rambo is a level 6 rifleman with a 400+ combat score. One hell of a noob score racking up infantry kill points with a garand.

A few minutes later someone in chat asks if anyone else is getting killed a lot. I asked "by Rambo?" and he and another said it was. Apparently he was the nemesis of a lot of my teammates.

The devs need to set up an in game reporting feature for cases like this. Rambo is such a common steam name there's nothing to go on. And after I leave the server there's no log of which one I was playing on and when, so I can't say "I was on x server at x time". And even then, good luck reporting - no contact info on the hell let loose web site.

As the game gets more popular this is only going to become more of a problem, and the devs need to have a good system in place so HLL doesn't end up like hackerfield.

When I first played HLL I was on Official servers, and know first-hand that if you go to Team17's website you can 'Contact Us' about HLL, including hackers etc, but it's not worth it. You have to have the name of the server and the time you were on to go further, and the game doesn't show history.

I agree with the above comment, it's much better to play on a custom server, especially any Community/Clan server as they usually will have moderators and admins on hand to investigate and kick players breaking rules.

I think it was one of the official ones, but I can't be sure since once you leave server it doesn't tell you where you just left. Another problem with the system as it is now is that there is no server info button in game, so once you're in game you can't tell either. I look at ping and map / mode when finding a server and most times couldn't tell you what server I'm playing on while I'm actually in game.

After thinking about the game it feels like it wasn't a script hack as much as an LOD bias hack like jack frags talked about in a bfv video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eixkJ_7VbQE - basically everyone else has to deal with finding people through texture camouflage, foliage and smoke while the person using the hack sees the enemy stick out like a sore thumb.

At this point in the game, they are more focused on Development, they WILL have a reporting system in place later on, Right now tit just has to be delt with, they are EASILLY available to those who simply know how to google.(Reguardless of how much people say "Hes just good")

Whats the point in cheating anyway? Is it to piss legit players off , or i mean do they feel good about being good through cheating? I dont get it
Lorem Ipsum Jan 25, 2020 @ 3:25pm
Either to piss people off since they're miserable themselves, or they stink without hacks and feel justified in using them. Or they just want to see if they can get away with it.

What HLL does right is not having global leaderboards for bragging rights, inter-team chat to feed on rage, and the casino like killcount / damage indicators that gets people high off the stimulus of racking up kills. But there will always be jerks in the world that will cheat whenever they can.

HLL is full of wall hacks, like I mentioned in another thread a dude on some forum sold over 300 wall hacks in 3 days at $9.99.... Hate to say this but gaming community is like any other community out there, there is always garbage in and garbage out.

Why the heck does someone buy a teambased, tactical shooter and cheat ?
Nobody cares about K/D in this game :D

its a fact, that in 220 hrs of gameplay you have been killed by many hackers but just didnt realize it cause wasnt so blatant as the aimbotter, the ever popular and harder to detect hack is ... radar.. seeing enemies on your radar, google it.... prob most popular hack for fps's.

Hey bossman, the "pay 9.99$ for my cheatpack" is a scam for children and idiots. Disect the page and you'll see that it really says "<Insert game name here> hacks and cheats 9.99"

Not saying there ARN'T cheats, ive seen them they're free like all of them are, just got to be apart of that community or discord group and you'll find it along with everything to get around anti-cheat services and hardware banning services.

If STEAM could not defeat cheating in one of their highlighted games, No one can.

lets be frank here... the hackers are ALWAYS ahead of anti cheat, update anti-cheat / hackers adapt in hours, anti-cheat is always behind due to new and innovative hacks, this is the FPS realm we have all known and lived with for years... will always be hackers... end of story

Updating and keeping track of current cheats (Aka watching youtube, google and cheat forums) is the best way as it keeps the amount of people cheating low. Where as most-prefab cheat systems (EasyAntiCheat, VAC) take 6 months to update to cheats that were valid 6 months ago.

Also It is Cheating not "Hacking", Hacking would be manipulating master server data to give your account max XP, where as cheating would be getting easy kills/wins to boost your xp.

just hope these people get fed up and go away,im of same opinion just dont understand why a small minority want to set out to spoil a game for everyone else,if you join a community or clan as has been mentioned it should be a better experience for you ,i joined [82AD] a good community with great admins
