Can your in-game name be changed?

I'd like to change my in-game name to something more HLL specific. Is that possible? I don't see anything in the options to allow that

It's your steam name, just change that. There's currently no way to change ONLY on your ingame name.

how is it 2025 and people still don't understand how steam [and in-game names] work?

if a game has a launcher, you'll need to change your name through the game's features.

if you load into a game an are never prompted to create a name, but can probably see you STEAM handle showing up as 'your name' ...well, deductive logic would lead any normal person to realize that you'd need to change your steam name in order to influence your in-game name, but lets be honest, education in schools isn't a thing anymore.

You misunderstood. I knew from the start. But I often do want to change it. I just gave up in wanting to do it because it's steam..still I think it's a bad concept.
