Nobody wants to be squad leader anymore...
This weekend i encountered a few times squads missing a leader.
When asking, they say they cant handle the chat in leader communication anymore.
Im not ready to do it my self yet, need more practise.
But i think if somebody opens up a squad in the Beginning of a match, he should be squad leader
without any other option, like this, the squad always has a leader.
Second i think the squad leader needs one more benefit ingame ( maybe choosing between some weapons?) Something that makes
this roll more benefit....
May the XP could kick in? So only people with experience can take this roll?
Or if there is no leader then the highest ranked soldier automatically gets squadleader?
What you guys think could help with this phenomenon?

Anyone who doesn't like playing SL because "uhhhh, too meny werds!" - should just bail.

If someone doesn't have the fortitude to shoot, command their squad, and talk to the other squads, it just shows they are here to play CoD, not HLL.

Ok, but this does not solve the issue at all. Any constructively idea?

OR it could be because they don't have a microphone, or they're new to the game, or they're uncomfortable giving orders, or dislike leading others, or maybe they aren't fluent in English, or maybe they've had some bad experiences and want a break, or maybe they just like playing different roles.
This is just off the top of my head, i'm sure there's tons of other reasons.

Exactly!
May if the XP system could be used so only veterans or the highest ranked becomes leader.
May for choosing being leader it needs a certain rank, otherwise it goes to the person with
highest rank automatically?
Then it needs a worthy reward to take the burden of being responsible for some mistakes. lol

Personally i don't really like situations where you're forced into a role, even though i can see how that role is absolutely crucial in this game.
I'd prefer something along your earlier ideas about added incentives, be it extra experience, more customisation options, or something else entirely.

I'm hoping that the more people start playing this, and the more comfortable with the game mechanics they get, that it will sort itself out eventually.

I don't like being SL because it's a nightmare trying to get people to work together sometimes.

Like every other game it's a group of people that won't follow orders or even spawn with you let alone trying to get everyone to work together to do an objective or destroy a tank.

I cba with that stress, I'm much more happy going support or engineer and working with the SL and doing what I'm told.

It's even sucks with recon because at least half the snipers I have been paired with also aren't interested in following orders or even using mics...

Don't get me wrong it's fun when it works but when it doesn't you are super powerless as SL.

I see, maybe a punishment system... lol
Maybe the SL has the possibility to downrank a soldier, but the soldier only
recognise this when the match is over? Or his gained XP gets cut by half or even more?

There are two issues:

1.) Way to much chatter in the command channel. The commander has no way to speak to a specific SL and only to him. This needs to be changed in the future.

2.) It's really hard to make players work together. Sometimes they just run off to do their own thing or no one wants to play a class that is absolutely needed (mostly support).

1. Is why i only play SL half the time. There tends to be way to much micromanaging from alot of the commanders, combined with them trying to raise morale, tell personal war stories or what not.

For me I think they should do like rising storm 2 Vietnam. If a Sl leaves it automaticaly appoints someone else. Also with the new xp and rank system it could automatically give the sl to the highest rank in the squad once the progressin system has its bugs worked out

I also tend to this solution.
But then SL needs two things related from the posts above.
1. Something rewarding as choose of weapon or such.
2. A punishment mechanic for players who are selfishly leaving the squad and do not
follow the orders.

I haven't played commander, but one would think a more manual system would work nice where you could place order markers on the map for squad leaders individually.

Maybe even let the ordinary squad members see the markers?

I do it all the time, it's a bit more difficult with the influx of newer players. Things should even out again soon.

Over chatty command chat is worse than no command chat at all. We dont need to hear about how youre in E4 headed west at 4 meters per second with a bearing of 223 carrying a smg while observing nothing in the distance with a plan to bank left in 3 min to flank a house that you suspect has a person inside and also relaying the positions and status of each of your squad mates.

A simple "J squad headed to barn" is good enough.
