Let's discuss the Light Tanks...
So I was wondering if anyone has had any success with any of these tanks? To me, they feel useless. Some of the issues I have with both Light Tanks.

-The shifting is still wonky. Sometimes it gets stuck in second gear and floats around like it's hovering. Can't get any traction to make turns quickly like I can with the Sherman or Panther. It takes forever to get moving from any gear.

-Speed is nice, but there's absolutely no maneuverability because of the shifting woes.

-The main gun is severely lacking. I've watched infantry take several shots from the main gun, blood pops out and they walk away while I'm reloading.

-It's supposed to be an infantry killer, but the MG is suffering from the medium tank nerf on MG ammo.

-Your just a little target for the medium tanks, with no defense against them. When I see a Light tank, I feel like a bully when I destroy it. It's speed doesn't even help, because it gets stuck and slows to a stop when trying to turn.

-The volume of Bazooka's and Shrecks make it nearly impossible to engage objectives on most of the maps. One shot and your out.

I don't even like getting in them, they aren't fun to use, frustrating to drive, frustrating trying to kill infantry with the low ammunition and the low damage output of the main gun. Alot of work needs to be put into them to make them feel viable.

Have you tried letting go of the throttle while turning? I've noticed that applying throttle in small bursts during a turn helps a lot.

Light tanks are really meant to be used as scouting/infantry fighting veichles. Keep your distance from enemy infantry and engage them from a far or from somewhere they won’t expect you.

Learn to shoot and scoot with the light tanks so as to keep your position unknown and confusing to the enemy.

I have, it works well with the medium tanks, but with both of the light tanks, the turning radius is really horrible, so even feathering the throttle doesn't produce much traction for the turn. If you want to say, turn around a bale of hay, formation of rocks or buildings, you have to bring the light tank to a complete stop almost as you downshift. I catch so many light tanks during their turns and they are easy targets.

I guess you didn't really read the post. I realize that it's an infantry fighting vehicle. But even infantry outgun the light tanks. The main gun on the light tank doesn't seem to have much damage to it, as I see infantry taking multiple hits from it before dying.

While the speed in the light tanks is great when your going on flat surfaces, in a straight line, once you need to make hard maneuvers, the shifting gets all jacked up and you come to a halt, and your a juicy target for AT infantry and medium tanks.

I shoot and move constantly anyways, in all tanks. I never stay in one area too long. I'd consider myself an ace in the medium tanks. 188 hrs played, mostly in a tank role. I just can't figure out the light tanks role in this game right now, it just seems like it needs a good overhaul. Main gun could use some love, the shifting needs to be smoother, like the medium tanks.

Light tanks are just inferior in every way. They are anti-infantry tanks, yet don't offer any advantage.

In the case of the Panzer II, the lack of a secondary MG for the driver just makes the tank less effective. It has no AP rounds so as soon as you see an enemy tank you must run away. It has higher speed, but it's a tank, 80% of the time you're immobile mowing down infantry. The only time you need the speed is when you're running away from an enemy tank. You can't outrun the turning speed of an enemy tank either, so you're not gonna be flanking it with speed anyway.

I haven't played with the Stuart much, but from what I've seen it's just an inferior Sherman.

If both a light tank and a medium tank are available, there is no reason ever to pick the light one
I've had amazing success with light tanks. I normally attempt to flank the enemy and keep my combat engagement distance to 100-200 meters. If I see a garrison or I know the enemy has no AT, I will rush forward. My record is about 40 kill in a single light tank life and I claimed over 70 kills in a single round.

Yeah, I've tried doing wide arcing flanks with it, but I either get picked off by AT hiding in a hedgerow or if I'm playing in the Luchs, spotted by a respawning Sherman and caught.

Only map I've had a little bit of success in, was actually Hurtgen. Only because I could actually move into the forest and avoid getting stuck with the smaller tank.

Either way, I do think it needs a bit of love. Main gun could use a bit of a damage buff and some extra ammo. Got any footage of that game or some screencaps? I have yet to see anyone post any good gameplay in a light tank yet. Even on youtube.
