I got to admit i don't see the point of it and not because of the arcade ref, (i don't mind a little arcade to make things more fun)but just because it does not feel right been able to zoom in this particular game

Keep it. There is nothing "casual" about it.

I have a lot of difficulty without that feature.

its simulating steadying your aim and focusing. the reason you cant hold it forever is because its supposed to give the illusion that your character is holding their breath.

no. leave it as is

holding breath is fine, i understand it'll stabilise your shots but how does it zooms the target?

the same way your brain zooms in as you watch a tv from across the room or even look at your monitor and you end up seeing nothing else. does it really need an explanation? why can i hear dink noises from across the map when i get a headshot? why am i able to remember the position of an enemy that killed me after death? where is the fuel at these capture points coming from?

It rewards a more patient play style, they have the same thing in RO2 and It helps with longer shots
IRL it's easier to see someone far away than in a video game
If you don't like zooming in don't zoom in but it's a feature that helps me be able to actually see the enemy

Actually you do have it in real life. It kinda simulates what you do when focusing on a far away object with your eyes. You narrow your eyes to slits kind gets you a small "zoom" effect, not really by zooming but the field of depth is adjusted to the further away object, making it better visible.

It would suck without it, leave it.

I completely agree. Let's keep it.

I play RO2 a lot. I completely agree.
I feel RO2 had the balance just right.
