well so did the soldiers back then they didnt have this feature to zoom in!! XD
the same way your brain zooms in as you watch a tv from across the room or even look at your monitor and you end up seeing nothing else. does it really need an explanation? why can i hear dink noises from across the map when i get a headshot? why am i able to remember the position of an enemy that killed me after death? where is the fuel at these capture points coming from?
IRL it's easier to see someone far away than in a video game
If you don't like zooming in don't zoom in but it's a feature that helps me be able to actually see the enemy
