If you want something better that is still cheap, look for a used GTX 980. Pascal cards were amazing and there's still a lot of them out there. If you can find a 980ti even better.
At the current state of the game none of the cards (I have both of them) can keep a constant 60 fps rate when running in a mix of medium and high settings @ 1080p. Both suffers from huge fps drops (reaching 30, 40 fps) in certain situations, what is pretty annoyng. Lowering the graphic settings helps a bit, but the main problem seems to be lack of optimization in the game.
I run the game with a mix of high and epic settings at 1440p with a gtx 980 ti with stable fps of 60+, the game runs very well for me. I also know of people playing with gtx 680 and getting stable fps on medium to high settings.
Get a 2nd hand 980 ti best bang for your money imo.
You could get a brand new gtx 1060 for the price of a 2nd hand 980 ti, but i'd say the 980 ti is better.
What about the 1660 Ti? Looking at NewEgg it makes much more sense to get a 1660 Ti over a 980 Ti.
For the price and age I don't find a 980 Ti worth it given the 1660 Ti exists...

Yeah you're right just checked the price. Go for the 1660 ti OP.
A GTX1060 is bare minimum, stretch to a GTX1070 if you can.
And then hope your CPU and RAM etc can keep up with it. ;)
