Panther Tank Armor Being Frontally Penned?
Ive got this video of a Panther Fighting a Sherman Crew and This Sherman Crew could somehow two shot panthers frontally (not lower glacis plate) but in fact through the turret

someone mentioned it might be turret ring shots but is the turret ring even modeled for damage in this game? does anyone know?

Now I LOVE the Panthers, I pretty much only want to drive them since I hate the Shermans so much......I once counted 45 (REALLY 45!!!) Bazooka bounces because I Figured my Armor frontally was invincible....and it was....up until this sherman crew showed up who knew something we didnt...be it glitch or super difficult shot....I just want to know HOW the hell they did this....that was a Full HP Panther and they penned it twice somewhere in the turret and killed it.

They did the same thing to me when I was on a tank crew earlier...turret says broke but no damage to tank hull then the next shot kills us.

Firing tests at Isigny in July 1944 showed that the US 76mm would
penetrate gun mantlet at 200 yards

There are also examples of shells hitting the lower part of the gun mantlet and deflecting into the roof of the hull.
1st hand example of a 75mm Sherman doing just that can be seen in the book. "Armoured Guardsmen" by Robert Boscawen.
The Germans did add the 'chin' piece to try and prevent that very thing happening. So, it's likely to have happened a few times.
Chin gun mantlet started being introduced, Sept 44, but never completely replaced other type.

Panther G (this tank) had protection against shot trapping and this isnt the same gun as the E8....the E8 had a muzzle brake

Didn't mention E8, firing tests at Isigny took place before the E8 was introduced.

hm...even then Im having a hard time wrapping my head around a turret kill on the panther....the sloped front armor is about 85mm sloped which is about 100-ish armor so why does it bounce there?

The glacis is at a steep angle. A mantlet hit, can be hit anywhere on the mantlet. Resulting in possible square on hits or close to center where the angle is reduced. By saying it it's 'possible' to penetrate. That still doesn't mean 100%. It still depends on things like point of impact, angle of the shot etc, etc.

The deflecting shots from the bottom of the mantlet, would still indicate that hits high or low on the mantlet would bounce.
With regards to the game (specifically the incident above). Not sure that's clear. So, benefit of the doubt might be in order...

You dont know to one shot kill shermans frontally right?
A reasonably square hit to any part of the Sherman from within 1500m would either kill it or immobilize it, extreme luck allowing. None of that is modelled in the game, because there is not crew-wounding/dying modelled. Thus it is arcade.

But the allied side gets four or five Shermans vs two Panthers, because 'balance'. Lol.

Alot of people do. I know I can one shot Shermans frontally, the thing is, the sight on the gun is kind of wonky. It can be hard to hit those sweet spots cause the gun, even stationary and even just a subtle tap on the up or down key, sends the reticule too high or too low. At least for me.
I can verify that this happens all the time. Pretty much all I do in this game is crew a Panther and we've been blown up many times by frontal hits from Shermans and I generally expect to get penned if he sees me first.

Our supposedly superior German armor is not a factor in this game unless we're up against Bazookas, but Bazookas are weaker than German rockets so I'm not sure if that's the armor or not.
