The Garand sight is quite accurate, it just doesn't translate well into the game. Which is fine enough, since the Kar 98 sights are way more effective in game and it helps to balance the fire rates.
The garand iron sights are decently realistic even though i agree with you. The ADS really needs to cover your FOV because you woulnd thave a good FOV irl and if you're ADSing then you should have a taget your aiming at (weather it be a possible enemy bulging out of a hedge row, or scanning a ridge). If anything the Garrand needs to be nerfed maby in magnification of iron sights or increased recoil. It has the same 1 shot potential the K98 has but with a faster Rate of Fire, More accurate to iron sight, and holds 1 more round.
Also the Enfield is British with an even worse ADS view and 5 round bolt action. would acutally be more balanced than the Garand.
Imo, which should be considered a grain of salt but a general agreement, The K98 needs a fire rate Buff, the garand needs either a damage nerf or zoom ADS nerf ( id much prefer a - 25% zoom nerf to a damage nerf especially if a 1v1 duel is going on). A commander level smoke arttillary coupled with a SMG buff and LMG Bipod fix would balance alot of situations.
Also i totally agree with soviet content eventually, i cant wait for the battle of Stalingrad, Kursk, Moscow, liberation of Leningrad, Battle of Berlin. the content is almost endless and as a ww2 hobiest the eastern front is the bulk of my ww2 game excitement. 8/11 of all german casualties happened in the eastern front... but only after the germans inflicted 16-20 milliom russian casualties. That's where the real drama is at, they even took Berlin by the time we showed up.
This game IMO has mastered the importance of large scale communication to win, the developers nailed it. now i want to see how communication works in a purely urban environment I.E. Battle of Stalingrad. The most costly battle in recorded history.
with that essay posted, the Garand is a better K98, minus the ADS FOV.
I hope they change the sights to be like those, I always hate how all american and british weapons sights in WW2 games look wrong.
Yea, exactly..
I mean..
I know M1 Garand has this kind of Iron Sights for real....
BUT
When you shoot IRL with this Sights, you dont have "monitor vision" (tunnel vision), I mean, you dont see only in 19´ 22´ or 24´ or 27´ rectangle..!
You just see fully whats in front of you and to the sides with peripheral vision.. On monitor you see only a little bit of whats in front of you, little bit, and theres totally no peripheral vision included of course...If somebody of you played airsoft or paintball or shot some weapon you should know what I mean... IRL you just dont have to aim "through monitor" vision...
So, when you aim with this Sights IRL, its much easier, because you can see "around" them (of course you have to aim with both eyes open to do that properly, if you aim with one eye closed, you ll see ♥♥♥♥♥ too, but still not that big ♥♥♥♥♥ like in game).
Because of that I written this post...
Theres not good ratio between Iron Sights of Garand and our monitors...Ring is too fat... That ring fill up too much of our monitor space (so of our whole vision)... Bad ratio...
Fully agree
but I've got another idea.
As I have already mentioned in different topic, instead of making circle thinner, just make the textures of that circle diaphanous while close aiming and let players see a little bit through it.
If you think that is what the rifle looks like while aiming you need to see an optometrist and turn in your drivers license.
