Normandy was used:
Thompsons (M1A1) 700-750rpm.
The Thompson ingame is to slow.
it feels like a WW1 rifle... But im not a specialist in any means.
eeehhh. M1A1 production wasn't really full scale until 1943, meaning that even in 1944 the M1928 would still have been the more common gun to encounter. If you really wanted to push it, maybe have the commander get the M1A1 and give the M1928 to other classes that get a smg.
Much like the Thompson, the BAR IS a WWI gun. The USA entered WWII entirely unprepaired. The states didn't really have a 'WWII' weapon (other then the M1 Garand) until the M3 in 1945. The BAR entered production in 1917- right at the tail end of WWI. Its fire rate is evident of this - its envisioned usage was to be used in 'walking fire' - the idea was that during a large infantry assault (WWI style) BAR operators would advance firing from the hip - the lower ROF was to increase controlibility..
Compare this to the MG38 and MG42 - they were designed after WWI with the idea being a 'universal machine gun' - A gun that could be replace the multitudes of different mgs in different roles. Add a spiderweb sight - its a AA gun. Remove the shoulder stock - its a vehicle gun. Place it on its hightech stand - its a mounted HMG. Use the shoulder stock and assault drum - its an infantry weapon.
But it is doing his job in the trenches , cleaning buildings etc
