Also the angle of your Shrek at 80m is going to be tilting downwards, it might look like it's striking flat, but it's probably got like 30 degrees of down pitch, coupled with the slow movement at 80m it's not looking good.
Anti-tank weapons are unreliable af. You really need to be close.
Well, it does make some sense I'm afraid. I won't pretend to be an expert on munitions and ballistics but several devices of the time required the user to be with scary close distance of the target, the Panzerfaust for example. Beyond that, game balance.
HEAT rounds dont care about round velocity. That is not how they work. Weird game mechanic. Its like making bullets gain altitude over range weird. Well more than the ballistic arc...
Its more to do with the angle of impact as mentioned earlier. A longer shot requires a higher arc. If youre having to arc too much to hit a target it is impacting at a higher angle. In my previous post you can see that deflections are calculated in the game. While it might appear that you hit it (since its potentially deflecting into the ground next to the tank and exploding) theres a possibility you arent actually doing anything to the tank.
Through my experience, if youre aiming at a distant target, try to have the impact on the top/turret rather than low on the tank
In reality this wasn't an issue because the projectile of the Panzerschreck was noticeably faster than the projectile of a Bazooka as the rocket engine kept burning for a few seconds after leaving the launch tube which is also the reason for the shield - it protects the user from the hot and toxic gases.
Players miss their shots way more often than they think. There are several issues with the german arsenal and I hope the devs address them in a future patch.
Probably because a Panzerschreck rocket had twice the weight of a Bazooka projectile. I don't know if the former is actually stronger in the game but it's main advantage should be a thing here as well. Right now it's not.
IIRC the Panzerschreck gunner was issued only two rockets, the others were carried by his support team mate or in this game a rifleman that can drop ammo.
