I get that the PC already has better graphics than consoles, but would be nice if they'd at least import to Steam the achievements they made...
Plus BM on PC has worse textures and worse lighting according to the remasters, unless of course, they have gone retarded with the lighting. Also PC version has a ton of bugs and no controller support.
PC has every hitman game ever and is not geting a remaster of the best one... Screw IO
- Achievements
- Gamepad support
- Proper widescreen support (nemessis2000 fix works only on specific .exe, not on all version)
- Proper HUD elements scaling on higher resolution
- No improved lighting from announced HD edition. (probably, if they compare new version to PC, not ps2)
- Trading cards and steam cloud support.
- PC retail version have some bugs.
We definitely need BM HD, PC version is too old and PC players always support hitman series.
I hope that it isn't published by WB, we don't get Return to arkham from them :(
But yeah, the bastards seem to forget where Hitman started: Codename 47 was only ever released on PC. No console ports or anything.
Most studios these days do these remasters on PC as a fan service for free to curate their franchise. They add the updated edition for free to the account of every person who already owns the game on Steam. Combine this with a franchise sale at the time of the update and you still make money.
IO have already done the work for the console versions so they might as well update the PC version on the side, too.
This will produce goodwill from PC gamers plus get them some sales of the updated editions and some more sales of related titles in the franchise.
It would be quite lame if this HD edition update would not be released on PC and it should ideally be free for owners of the games. I'd also say that Absolution does not need it but Blood Money should be getting the update including Steam achievements for sure.
I really hope they are just keeping silent about the PC version in order not to cannibalize console sales and that they will release the PC update (for free for owners) ~3 months or so after the console releases.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't pay $30+ though. I'd pay $15, maybe $20 max. I've seen some remastered games that offered a nice discount upon release for owners of the original version, like 40% off (and some games already have a 10% discount on release).
I see what you are gettign at and while I agree with you to an extent. Blood money would have got a lot of sales when it first came on steam which would have been a much higher price. So I think the whole 1$ argument is a lil bit flawed.
