The goal of Final Journey isn't just to heal yourself. It buffs your stats(so, your damage) and gives you fast dash. Also, the timer(unless it has been nerfed since then) is pretty long with 3 minutes and 4 1/2 minutes with Gift Extension.
This gift is meant to be used against a boss(and is pretty amazing for that), not really to explore a zone.
The recent patch nerfed the duration from 3 minutes to 1 minute (1 min 30 seconds with gift extension).
With the right setups, you can drop bosses before they have a chance to do much anything at all, long before this expires.
Some silly noggin put a distress beacon up that i joined, thinking I was going to help them defeat a boss, only to have them use like 6 buffs at the start of the battle (including this one, and running in there and eliminating it before it even got a single hit off either of us.. Then they danced and waved, and i poofed....
-Complete heal
-Increase damage
-Enable Quick dodge on all weapons regardless of the weight
The Final Journey nerf also the Quick mobility. It only increases mobility stage by 1 now. You can still reach quick if your setup is at normal mobility before the buff.
This buff does not disperse you, so unless you're going solo, it's not really a problem.
If you don't like this skill, then simply don't use it. It's just one of the things like many others that when utilized right, can be a boon, but if used inappropriately is worthless.
