wtf why is it so difficult
i never played games like dark souls or what, this is the first time im playing this kind of game and Jesus man I fell off the cliff right after i get to control my character, theres no direction in minimap for this game? I have no idea what to do next just keep dying and dying, my Ai buddy is just sitting down leaving me alone after he gets wounded, what do i do? the enemies just kept respawning after i take a rest, should i just keep respawning them and farm them to level up?

Take it slow. Learn how to fight mobs without taking too much damage. It gets a lot worse if you just run in expecting this game to be another hack n slash. Leveling up is fine but the main thing is to learn enemy attack pattern and being able to avoid getting hit. This is something you have to pick up fast.

A lot of the map exploration is based on luck/your gut feelings at times when starting out. Depending on how long it takes you to find your way, it could be a very painful experience. Exploring will allow you to find a lot of hidden items so even if you get lost, it could make up for it in what you find.

Hope this song motivate you to keep on trying.

Yep, it's a challenging game. My advice is take it slow and learn enemy behavior. You aren't given the luxury of being "sloppy" like most games, where you can mash the X button for a free win.

btw, backstab hitbox usually isn't directly behind. It's slightly skewed to the right.

I can't do the backstab, every time I approach the enemy from the back they would just turn right before I try to backstab, is it because I'm too close?

Line up your character left hand to the back for the back attack. For some reason that works out 90% of the time.

I don't run all the time, still learning the enemies' attack pattern, I'm just having problem dodging
And those mobs hit me once 1/3 of my hp are gone, is there a way to regenerate hp?

Your sidestepping speed, when you're right in their face and locked on, is actually a substantial amount faster than their turn speed. But you have to be fast enough to do it before they start any attack animations.

Regen option is only the regen cells (?) I don't know the exact term, but the item that's a green symbol. You start with 3 available and they are upgradable

There is but they are very limited. You get a set amount of time you can use a health regen and limited amount of item health potion.

If you're playing coop, or with the AI partner the game isn't too bad. Though admittedly it isn't easy either.

The problem being that the game is not optimized for solo play. There is no group AI to speak of, so they will all attempt to attack you at once, clipping through each other while attacking you. So doing solo really is supposed to be akin to a challenge mode in this game.

so how do I join other players? I choose online mode from the starting screen and what's next?

press start, or "esc", third option is multiplayer, at top of menu

you can change the settings of matchmaking

To expand on this, there are two settings in the matchmaking menu:
- Send out Distress signal (use this if you want someone else to join YOUR game)
- Search for a Distress signal (use this to join someone else's game, if available)

Code Vein is only hard and frsutating at the beginning because.... You're under levelled, don't gave access to good gear (except for the Zweihander.... But 2H aren't that good in my opinion) and you're missing a lof of Blood Code

When you hit the Howling Pit, you're beginning to hit the good stuff (Impaler, enough Old World material to get the Enduring Crimson from Louis, enough Queen Iron and Haze to Enhance everything to 3, access to numerous Blood Code) and by the end of dried-up trench , the game become challenging but not hard and frustating anymore....

Because you have now a lot of option to choose from....

Also, with the right blood codes, dark gifts become absolutely broken. Especially with ice skills. It seems everything is vulnerable, or at least not resistant to ice. Even the enemies in the snow area.
