Can you play as Necrons?

I might be willing to buy this if I can get to play as Necrons?

Really hate playing as Smurfs and their associated factions. I'd love to see more games where you get to play as your preferred faction, with a universe so full of them you think we could get to play as something other than Smurfs!

No. You play exclusively as tech priests and their troops.

If it isn't obvious from looking at the game store; you just play as the Adeptus Mechanicus....hence the name.

Don't understand where you got that Ultramarines were involved or how they are associated with the mechanicus.

I don't wan't to play as any Human race as I said I wan't to play as Necrontyr it's my favourite race but all we ever see is Smurfs, fallen Smurfs, Imperium and once Imperium but now something else. I tend to class these all as the one thing and stick them under the heading of Smurfs. If you can't see how Mechanicus and Ultra Marines are linked then I feel sorry for you.

We need more games with playable races that are not human based (Armies of the Imperium and Space Marines), i.e. Tau, Necrons, Tyranids, Orks, etc, etc.

I would say if you like necrons this game is still worth getting. It is one of the most flavorful Warhammer Games yet so lots of lore and insight into necrons to be found here

Youre really missing out.. This is one of the best 40k games in years. And you have no other games where you get to play as Adeptus Mechanicus. I was actually shocked by how much I enjoy this game. Now having replayed it 3 times, and still keep it installed. It is heavily customizable, from settings, to game perameters, to your tech priests gear, and multiple different ability trees.
