Do your units which survive a mission permanently gain experience/level up, and if so, what does that entail? I.e., perks, stats, etc. Are missions just constant combat (if so, how long does each mission tend to last?) or are there other elements to take into account?...

you cant shoot when in melee so if you corner ranged only enemies they obviously can

Failed the tutorial mission, failed the next two missions and it wasn't even close. The servitors get one-shot, the enemies are so fast I can't kite, and my tech priests get two-shot as soon as anything bigger than the smallest Necron gets line-of-sight. Is the experience supposed to be this punishing?...

i just start and keep getting over run also the starting Servitors are almost useless but maybe the game want you do lose the fight but that is so dumb if you played on perm dead
