,,The Darkness 2 sold a total of 540,000 copies which is below the expected 1 Million and hence it was financially unacceptable for 2K to spend anymore money on making DLC for the game. The release of Borderlands 2 also contributed to that matter since as one of 2K game’s most successful titles it needed heavy funding for the announced 6 DLC,,
thenexusnews December 4, 2012 Jackie R.
It makes sense...but at least they could remove the "DLC" section from the Main Menu...
They do everytime when a game get a Redux version, they shut down the store page of the original game and keep only Season pass page.
I think i understand why the gameplay is great but the main story is 4 hours.
Game's amazing, but sold poorly. It happens: perfectly understandable.
I just hope the 3rd game gets funded otherwise the ending really screwed the customers (like myself, who bought the deluxe edition) with that "To be continued..." style of ending.
Personally, I feel the ending can stand on its own very well. Jackie is a tragic hero who makes a choice, pays the price and achieves his goal. If he's able to take back the price he paid by shooting everything up, then he's just some ridiculous superhero power fantasy.
Soo, bad news is, the 3rd game didn't happen. What's the difference between the regular and deluxe edition?
Did you seriously just necro this?
Anyway, you don't know if it's not coming. The free giveaway might be some test, who knows.
But that being said, to your questions. Deluxe just adds 2 new perks iirc and little more. I had the boxed one so I had a 3D-illusion like cover and a pretty big poster.
Just get regular, deluxe is for bragging rights. It's also free on HB, get that and play it. Still think it's one of the best FPS games of recent memory.
Yeah, thankfully I did get the free HB version, mainly because I have been wanting this since a year after it released just because of how amazing it looks and how much fun it really seems.
Also, okay. The 'it going free might be a test' is a bit of a stretch but, I have seen plenty of sequals or other games go free to see how big the fanbase still is to see if they want a remake or continuation of the story. Such as how the recent hitman has had the first two episodes free to keep, so far.
the thing is, is that it isn't the ending. These video games are just adaptions of the comic books. the plot of the games is VERY different from the games and is much much darker than the games.
If your a big fan of the story i highly recommend reading the comics online as what goes on in the game isn't canon to the story but is rather made to get people into the series.
