stuck in a vent

i was having fun with this and i liked the first one way back when. now im stuck in a vent and i cant proceed. im in the vent where you first take control of the darkling. i take control in the vent and start moving forward the bottom of the vent turns into a grate and i can see a cultist ans we says a line or 2 about the darkness and i cant get past this part. the line where the grate turns back into vent is where i get stuck by an invisible wall.

is this a bug or am i just missing something?

its a bug that has to do with vsync, i think its supposed to be turned on?
so just try to turn on vsync, reload the save and see if it works

Didn't work for me. I did Alt+Enter to get into windowed mode and finally I was able to get through.

it happened to me i only spammed jump and manage to bypass this

V-Sync & spammed jump one of those got me out maybe both

So there are 3 places this happen to me

!.) vent = so spammed the jump and movement buttons like crazy and it finally like me thru took around 20 seconds.

!.) under the pier at the docks = i moved backwards a little bit and then back forwards and it looks like i changed paths by a very small amount and it let me in. This happen 2 times under this pier.

!.) While playing as the darkling 2nd time = also kinda in a vent (theme?) solved it the same way at the first vent problem.

Just limit the framerate below 60fps.
There are several tools to achieve this.

Cap FPS to 59fps and you are good. There won't be any bugs in the game if you follow this.

No jump spam in the vent or anything.

i played years ago without an issue and this time i ran into this. good to know about the framerate/vsync stuff, i brute forced my way through the brothel vents with a combination of jumps and melee animations lol

I just finished a recent playthrough yesterday when in that vent was the only time but between changing V-Sync to the opposite of what I had and spaming jump one of the two got me through after that it worked great to the end. I wish we could play the 1st game on steam...
