vertical slash does no damage

So i got to the point in the tutorial section where i need to do a vertical slash. I can do all directional slashes just fine, but it seems like vertical slashes leave no mark on the fence, AKA they aint doing any damage. What gives?

ended up figuring out that the fence is kinda buggy and you have to strike it on the lower right corner for it to work, forgot to post, so here's the answer in case anybody's having trouble.

im starting to guess this might be like the vent bug you find further in the game, maybe it has to do with Vsync... or maybe each playthrough the hitbox is spawned in a slightly different position so you have to search where to hit it each time? i dont even know but i would try... doing the disgusting move of enabling Vsync... eugh.

I am also having this issue but enabling Vsync did not help. Anyone else have any suggestions?

For anyone still having this issue, I had to play the game in windowed mode to fix it.
