The Darkness 2 definitely doesn't run on Mac!!!
Hi there! I just purchased The Darkness 2 but when I push the Play Button nothing happens. My system is: MacBook Pro (17", middle 2010), 2,66 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB, Intel HD Graphics 288 MB.

According to Steam, The Darkness II needs:
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 or next
Intel Core i
4 GB RAM
10 GB Hard Disk
512 MB de VRAM
AMD HD 4870 with 512 MB de VRAM

So it should work on my Mac.

Could anyone help me? Thanks.

have the same issue, the game use to ran ok, but today I cant continue to play(. after click on continue playing the game just turns me back to the steam menu. I even tried to start a new game, but the same thing. windows 8Gb GF1050ti 4gb

Unfortunately, from 2k, they can't help and recommend a refund, because the problem belong Steam. Hello Steam!!! Anyone there? I need help!!!

Verify integrity of cache. It will redownload a 6mb file and it will run fine after that. Just had it happen to me.

Thanks. It seems many people have the same problem. Definitely The Darkness II doesn't work on Mac and maybe Steam should warn this. It's a trap!!! I'll try to run it on Windows and see how it goes. Next news...

There is a real possibility that your GPU being less than 30% as effective as the required GPU has something to do with it... but that said it should load and just run like crap. If it's not loading at all... That's weird.

Been a while I know but I also wanted to add that there's a difference between running a game on a Mac with OSX Lion and running it on a MacBOOK with an undisclosed OS.

The simple rule of thumb for gaming is generally: If you want to play a game. This order is from best to absolute worst:

Windows Desktop
Windows Laptop
Linux
Mac Desktop (Some recent Macs not using ARM CPUs with decent GPUs... or as decent as they come with their laptop variant cards... what a rip off... running windows can do okay)
Macbook (laptop)

I hope you didn't spend too long trying to get it to work fruitlessly. But steam refund is usually fair.
