General Aviation Emergency Handling - Assign to Stand?
Hi Y'all!

I'm very confused about emergency handling. I've had a couple of GA planes request emergency services after in-air bird strikes, and failed both of them, and I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

Currently, the plane lands, my firetruck goes and puts out the fire, the plane taxis to the hangar. But then it sits there.

For a commercial flight I could schedule it to a commercial stand. How do you do this for a GA flight? I dismissed an aircraft from one of my stands, but the emergency landed plane doesn't use it.

For a GA flight it doesn't need to be scheduled I think, it'll just go there automatically.

To be honest, I disable emergencies, because I think they are poorly implemented. An airport not equipped to handle a specific situation is not punished. Not every airport has hangars, police, fire trucks etc.

For schedued flights, you add 1 pad exclusively reserved for emergencies. Then you open it when one emergency arrives, assign it to this one, and re-close it afterwards.
This is how I solved the problem when I was still having emergencies enabled.

You wouldn't even need to open and close the stand, if using auto-planner. Just keep it out of the auto-planner (permanently) and manually assign the emergency flight.

Thanks! I saw that in a video tutorial. What about with non-scheduled flights? I'm specifically having difficulty with GA flights that don't show up in the scheduler.

I thought that too, but it didn't seem to be working :( Have you experienced it working as expected? If so, then I probably have a bug.
