Thought: Can the game handle totally separate terminals?
This "should" work, and I have built it but i'm seeing a few issues. Wondering if it is even possible.

I have a main terminal (T1). This terminal houses the majority of my medium gates and all large gates. I have now constructed a completely separate terminal (T2) further away which has my medium and small gates. I have made T2 as a completely separate terminal in many ways. It has it's own world entrance, public transport, security, baggage system, vehicles, employees etc. This is all handled via the Terminal area function through the game and works well. I also have service vehicles and buses to transport passengers to the med and small gates stands from T2.

That all works. BUT the issue is, I have passengers arriving via public transport to the wrong terminals. Passengers departing out of T2 and arriving at T1 and T1 arriving at T2. About 50% of the passengers make it to the right terminal.

I assume... this proves the game is not capable of this operation? I also have a red message above the terminals which reads "terminals do not have a good path between them".

Again, my goal was that these new T2 passengers would arrive from outside world at the correct terminal.

This is the only logical way to make it work without an insane bus shuttle network, or (please!) can we have airport TRAMS!. This would be awesome...

Thoughts? Has anyone been able to get this to work? Two separate terminals with their own networks, employees and most importantly, world entrance. No connection between the two terminals.

Thanks!

Actually that's why terminal zones were implemented, to prevent the situation that passengers enter the wrong area.

But for staff and service vehicles you need a connection to shift them between.

Good to know, I converted it all to bus stand and deleted the terminal areas, it works fine now. But after watching it and letting it settle for a few days as described in the OP, I still had a number of passengers traveling between the two terminals via a underground moving path. I could have tried to make that a staff only path possibly. I assumed the game logic didn't allow passengers to enter the correct terminal.

There were also issues on the exiting side as well. Passenger paths would have them exit and get their bags but they would often become stuck and lost to exit via the bus, car, taxi or subway systems at T2.

Also, I had 8 medium gates and 4 small gates at T2. Now converted to all small gates, but with the medium load, I couldn't begin to keep up with the 1 ramp agent per service car bottleneck.

Will give it another shot on a new map someday, glad to know it works though!
