I've got much much more build at my airport and with normal game speed the CPU usage is at about 70%.
I can take a look at if you want.
I understand you, that's really frustrating.
If you want i can take a look at, just upload your savegame and send me the link.
Things that I did was make the map bigger (size 2000, largest possible size so that the grass doesn't chip the borders) and set passenger to flight ratio down to 50%. Might consider putting it down to 25% or even 10%, since when I was building there was no problem whatsoever. Even with GA activity there wasn't; it started happening when my first few regional flights with passengers arrived. And since the airport isn't that big yet (almost the entire field still fits on one screenshot) I don't think it's the world size causing it.

So the blue line is their original intended route, and the blue circle is where the problem was with all the red questionmarked passengers amassing. The red striked circle was the problem; I forgot to place a crosswalk there, but I likely unintentionally have found a routing bug within the game.
As you can see, the yellow route I've drawn out could've been an alternate option to the terminal entrance, but they weren't taking it, instead moaning my CPU to 100% all the time and wondering why the ♥♥♥♥ they even exist.
The second I placed that crosswalk I noticed my CPU usage dropped immediately. A routing bug caused with longer walking distances possibly?
But yeah, as easier the paths are as bigger your airports can get. (If your hardware is good of course)
I'm currently expanding to the international terminal. If you'd like to mess around, I can send you the save file if you don't mind some asthetic mods. (And if your setup can handle a 2000x2000 map)

It's far from finished, but even if you want the save right now to modify it before completion, let me know.
!!! CAUTION: Possible unpractical realism !!!
Is it inspired by a real airport?
If you want you can join the Discord channel or the official forums where others share their inspirations and mega projects.
I am currently working on a 2000x2000 map as well with round about 85 stands. Not sure if it will work smoth. :)
But I prefer more the interiour design. Outside it's usually optimized for efficient paths with as less crossings as possible.
Here some parts: https://forum.airportceo.com/t/no-funs-weird-mega-airports/19424
As this airport is my first non-cheated, non-sandbox airport, the bottom-left area which I started out with looks a bit Foxtrot-Uniform-Charlie-Kilo'ed but nothing too bad like my previous two airports suffered from. XD
Yes, you could. I can have a look at.
My specs: i7-10750H, RTX 2070 SUPER, 32 GB RAM
I think my laptop could handle it. ;-)
I tried also with the biggest possible map but stopped it after about 5 hours of planning because i was not happy with my layout. ^^

Got it, i will look tomorrow.
