Having played this game before a year ago, and recently starting a new playthrough, the Tutorial is not good at checking off completed tasks -- at all. Thankfully, can recognize that I've done the thing needed and carry on. Don't need to be condescending to OP.
Nah, you didn't hurt my feelings.
Your comment wasn't helpful in the slightest, just condescending to the OP. You could just move on. The tutorial has issue, especially if you're not already familiar with the underlying game. Having some familiarity, playing through EA, one can figure it out typically -- but there were still many steps that would not complete despite doing what was asked. And some of those were as simple as 'build a thing' and not getting credit.
That and underground roads are important mentions since taxiways and service roads cant cross. I didn't realize that fuel trucks and planes cant cross the same ground to begin with so kept painting myself into a corner with that problem.
Then there are things like, if you use a doorway to get to a stand passengers get stuck... You have to punch holes in the wall to allow deboarding... Seems a bug to me, but passengers get stuck if you use doors. I wish tutorial explained that you had to knock the wall down instead... Lol.
Then I restarted twice because couldn't get remote stands to work. Each time plane just hangs on baggage stage in stand for days. Baggage works for non remote.
Third time, still couldn't get remote stand to work. But at least I figured that dismissing the plane moves to next step in tutorial. I assume remote stands are bugged and abandoned and devs forgot to take them out of the tutorial.
There really needs to be a tutorial to teach all the workarounds for all the bugs in the game. 🤣

Remote stands do work but you're right, the tutorial doesn't make it clear exactly how.
As a complete newbie to the game I have also struggled with the tutorial - it seems quite good at telling you what you need to use but not necessarily how.
My favourite example is baggage. the conveyor belt step shows belts going underground but at this point you probably haven't researched the tech to actually build underground!
If you look at the small illustrations carefully enough they do usually give you enough clues on how to connect all the bits together but if you make a mistake, not all those illustrations are included on the tutorial page of the main dashboard. It would be very helpful if those pages included all the detailed steps in full, so you can go back and review what might have gone wrong.
Anyway, I appear to have successfully navigated the tutorial and have a fully working (but badly designed!) airport so you may find my Lets Play series helpful - it's not a proper tutorial series but might help clarify some of the confusion ... https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfCB6ktiHMqQyk2oZFQjdwV_IDfM6jq-G
Regarding the doors... if you are building a wall and dropping a door in it, keep in mind that walls will delete secure zones, so you may have to rezone underneath your door.
If you delete (or move?) anything in a secure zone always check that wherever you removed it from is still marked as secure.
