Do you want to upload your savegame to the Workshop and post the link here? Then I can take a look and see if I have the same issue on my computer.
With me employees are regularly trapped in the toilets. They can't find their way to their workplaces. Go figure...
Sure, if this were a real airport the air-conditioning bills would be through the roof with all those holes in the walls... but people can find their way around OK!
For example removing a table or counter in a cafe in the departure area also removes the security zone assignment for the space the table occupied and any passenger the wrong side of the table has a good chance of getting stuck.
More annoying is when I change or extend the secure zone area and staff suddenly can't find their way in or out. It's as if they had their mind set on a path and nothing will make them choose another! OK, they do eventually usually work it out but it's quite an unnecessary interruption to my operation.
There is no way you NEVER have pathfinding issues. They're pretty common in the game. Most are caused by user error because you don't realize your secure zones touch, or that one baggage belt is misaligned. However, I just had a situation where after building a tunnel for my service vehicles, they started endlessly looping on the far side. I had to build a circular route for them to get out. They just would not go back the way they came without it.
