Either way, damaged aircraft have to go to a hangar to be repaired.
As far as I recall, researching ERU also unlocks hangars. And you don't have to build everything, but it's a good idea to be prepared. Afterall, you won't have much time when an emergency actually happens...
No no, hangars are unlocked by Commercial license. So I dont know if aircrafts starts to break down after Commercial license of if I need to research ERU as well.
And what about GA aircrafts? I have only small airport so far with only GA and they don't need ramp agents, but I can designate hangar to only service GA planes
Don't know if this has changed in the meantime.
Even if they don't use the ramp agent services, they can still be part of other emergencies that require repairs, e.g. emergency landing due to birdstrike.
Does that mean, that I need significantly more hangars for commercial planes (since there is chance ramp agent will discover break down) than for GA planes (since as you say they go to hangar only if they are subject of real emergency like birdstrike)?
