International flights only for large aircraft?
I'm sure this has probably been addressed before, but this is mainly directed to the developer. Is there anyway to have large aircraft and not HAVE to be an international flight? Is this something you are working on?

I never had an airport where big planes arrive, as I like small airports, so I can't help you with this. But, if it helps you, from time to time B757 planes arrive at my airports and do regional flights. Still, I doubt that a large aircraft makes regional flights, it is not logical, a large B747 or A330 type aircraft is supposed to perform long distance flights.
Anyway, it would be good to have an option where you choose what types of planes can arrive and what flights they can make.

I agree. This game limits large aircraft to international flights only, so... Large Runway needs, large plane stands need international boarding desk, which requires, international zone, passport check ins and check outs.... Realistically large aircraft are also used for domestic flights, not regional, although depending on what route it is, it may do regional flights, like Chicago to Atlanta, would be a large aircraft, Miami to Dallas, New York to LA..... I just don't understand why the developers limited the use of large planes to international flights only. If for instance I only wanted a regional airport with no international flights, then I'm only limited to small and medium planes....

I'm using large planes on domestic flights with no issues?

How? This is what happens when I build a large runway... (it requires)

Large Runway Exit
Large Taxiway
Large Plane Stand

I build that... Then I go to the terminal and I build a gate, in the gate I place...

Secure area
Seating
Medium Boarding Desk

I try to attach the Medium Boarding Desk to the Large Plane Stand it it says something like "Cannot attach plane stand to a non international boarding desk"....

So if I make the gate a secure, international zone, then it lets me attach the gate to the large plane stand.

If I click on the large plane stand, under the boxes on the right of the pop up window at the bottom it says "International Flights".... I can't find out anyway to change it.

What am I missing?

I did a test myself and indeed ran into a problem with International flights too.

Built a brand new large stand
Tried to connect a boarding Desk
Error "Boarding Desk in International zone cannot be connected to non-international stand"

Which makes no sense because I have no International zones. I then made a small international zone for boarding desk itself, and it let me connect the stand. Then I removed the International zone.

Well turns out that did nothing, it still has traffic type as International flights. My large stands that were built before the update are listed and functioning as domestic flights.

Hi guys

There is a gameplay setting to change to realistic international mode. With that, you can decide by your own which gates are domestic or international. A toggle appears at all gate sizes.

Go to Game Play Settings then check the Realistic International flights check box. This will add a slider control to your stands to either allow or not allow (default) international flights to the selected stand.

fatfluffycat - YES! That is the same exact problem I had. Funny enough I did the exact same thing you did, haha, I made everything, then connected everything, then deleted the international zone at the boarding desk. But that literally changed nothing, flights were still international, weird though, that passengers could board the plane just fine without passport check ins, but deboarding passengers got stuck because there was no passport check outs.

andycishere & difar - I will 100% give this a try! Thanks!

Also, Devs, if you are reading this.... I have an issue under the Staff control panel, I'm sure I'm not the only one, here's my issue:

When I go to view staff, and I choose a specific type of staff to look at, then I go to hire staff, the specific type of staff I selected changes. I do not know how many times I've went to look at how many of a staff type I have, then go to hire more, and end up hiring the wrong staff because it defaults back to a different staff type. The staff type selector should stay the same whether I am looking at current staff or looking at applications! This is insanely annoying! Anyone else have issues with this or is it just me?

andycishere & difar - Where are those check boxes for "realistic international flights"?. I'm in Gameplay settings right now and here are my options...

Save settings
(Box checked) Auto Save

Auto Save Interval (min)
(Slider set to 5 min)

Unit System
(Imperial selected from drop down menu)

Currency
(Dollar selected from drop down menu)

Clock Setting
(AM/PM selected from drop down menu)

Passenger per flights ratio
(Slider set on 50%)

(Box not checked) Alternative dragging method
(Box not checked) Enable tutorial window to pop-out when

Language
(English selected out of 12 languages)

And that's it, there are no other options to toggle or adjust.... Any ideas?

It shows up in-game, not the main menu. Load your save and go to settings from there.

I have no issues having both International and Domestic flights for Large Aircraft, you must have something in your settings causing your issues.

There is a setting which allows you to change the settings for individual gates so you can make medium stands for international flights, and presumably large stands for domestic.

If I flip the switch to toggle domestic flights the problem is that none of the airlines are offering any. I have every contract with an airline filled, and none of them are offering any domestic large flights. As soon as I switch the toggle back to international, (and set up all the international stuff), then I get flights booked.

Hi

When you use the realistic International flight settings, you need to be aware where your airport is located. Not many countries have domestic airports far enough to offer large domestic flights.
