No de-icing this time
Hallo again,

while Victor from my other questions still is enjoying the confort of my airports Foyer, I tried to create a deicing-facility...

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1912155199

I know, my layout is so far from being efficient that this picture might leave you in pain, but I' seeing this feature for the first time and don't know why there are still warnings left.

That the service road needs to come from the same vector as the planes do is kind of... not optimal, I think, but in my case the whole conception does not get accepted and refuses to offer any insight about it. No warnings inside the info window, no mails about errors... just this red Expression-Mark and thats it.

I did have a look in side the tutorial section, but its stuck in the "expand your airport" part. I cannot affort (or attach) the requested medium sized stuff for now, so whenever there is an answer behind this for my case, I will not see it any time soon.

So... Any tips about how to use the deicing facility?

May your traffic always lands safe

EDiT: Insightful research done by the wild goose at my Dutch Habor Airport showed, that is seems like at least one "batch" of "real taxiway" needs to connect to the de-icing and the taxi-transfer-pads to make them usable...
So, is that a feature,.... or a bug?

EDiT 2: Am I supposed to have multiple pads and de-icing trucks, even for a small airport? Because at the moment it causes up to 90 delay betwen the planes departure and the time they actually reach the damned runway.

If i recal, I tried doing this before. It seems that the runway is not treated as a proper taxiway. Planes can cross the runway for sure but not move along it, except takeoff or landing

So I suggest that instead of having it facing front toward the runway, make it parallel to the ajacent taxiway you have and loop it.

Thats seems like a decent solution... but wont a setup like this create the ultimate... plane waiting queue dead lock?

When the one from the de-icing pad wants to leave, but cannot, because there is one waiting in front of the exit, which waits for two in front of itself that are wating for the de-icing loop to get free again?

...

I need to test this :D

An advice is to move the pads away from the busy areas like runway exits or entrances and taxiways with heavy traffic. Have fun experimenting.
