Any tips on runway/taxiway design?
I have two small runways running side-by-side. With two taxiways. One on the left side of the left runway, and one on the right side of the right runway. There is a taxiway at the bottom of the runways that connect the two taxiways and it lets planes cross over to the other side. The two taxiways run straight down and connect to my two sets of 8 small stands. If you're able to picture that. I have a lot of planes that end up stopping for a while to let another plane go by. Trying to figure out the most efficient layout.

Top RWY arrivals only
Bottom RWY departures only

Ideally you want as few paths crossing because once you have a plane that begins it's path, a second plane cannot cross that path until the first has completed it.

I've been iterating on my GA section design, and this is my latest iteration. Seems to work quite well even though it appears a bit maze-like.

You'll want to have the shortest route for departing and arriving flights. In many cases with parallel runways the departure/arrival changes according to the wind to accommondate the shortest routes. In such cases it's useful to offset the runways a bit - one runway is a bit ahead of the other. However in this game you can only assign runway for either departure or arrival, without taking wind into count, so it may be a hassle to keep up with the changes (although in my game the planes always fly land/takeoff eastwards)

It may also be necessary to adjust runways according to the traffic - if you have alot more departures than arrivals, then you may want to use the runway with least runway crossings e.g. runway closest to the apron, to avoid delays by arrivals. And vice-versa.

In the game there should be always taxiways at both ends of the runway. In the simpliest design the taxiway should run parallel to the runway and the apron should be placed along the way. The game doesn't offer so much space for building that you'd really run into problems with congestion (unless building GA airport). Either you'll run short of space to build or you'll get your computer clogged up before congestion occurs. Unfortunately you can't set the taxiway directions for more advanced routing, but you can always try to manage it by offering the shortest route for arrivals and departures, to keep the traffic one way only.
can you not som how force the plane to lanf on that end you whant ?
The devs say the directions are based on wind. I have my runways running north/south and all of my planes land from the north and takoff from the north towards the south. I have never seen it any other way. So I'm not sure if this mechanism is working like the devs say it is. I think I'm on day 7.
