Report a translation problem
As steko says there is no way to expand the room aside from deleting the existing one and redrawing it.
I suggest when add a new food or shop, you first draw out a minimum size room, then check the available contracts to find what room size you DO need. Then delete the room and redraw it.
For sizing it helps to understand that each block is 1m, so a 3x3 room is 9m^2. Sounds obvious in hindsight but I didn't realize this at first and kept going through this horrible process of drawing and deleting rooms to get the requested room size. Still requires you to do some math though.
