Both grow (i hope so) and i think both are good pieces of software. Buy ACEO on the low price now and SimAirport perhaps in the next sale.
I was vocal on the SimAirport forums being critical of the bugs encountered right away in ACEO. However, I have put over 20 hours into ACEO the past 4 or 5 days and am very impressed and have had a lot of fun. The bugs that I have encountered are minor and only take a quick save and reload to fix. I started an airport on extreme and have played it out to have nearly 1/2 a million in the bank. The progression of the game on extreme is top notch. I found myself doing minor improvements while I saved up for larger purchases/procurements. Can't say enough, I really enjoyed the experience and can't wait for new content.
One more thing to add, I didn't have a whole lot of trouble figuring out the game and honestly I put that on me having a lot of experience with SimAirport. Many of SimAirport's systems are not as polished as ACEO's (Baggage, Fuel), however, the basic logic is the same and I didn't have any trouble picking up how to put together these systems in ACEO.
I also want to second Mitchell's remark about the developers. I think it is great that the developers of both projects have such great attitudes, and have each established a close-knit relationship with the community., even to the point of not objecting to open discussion of each other's projects on their forums. Not all developers are like that. It leaves me with a very positive feeling overall as a customer of both games.
ACEO could very easily become my most favorite game of all time.
I actually disagree with this. I think there is more crossover than some think.
Personally, I dont find ACEO as complex as people are saying. Additionally, I don't think SimAirport is as simple as people claim either. At this point neither game is very "deep".
Fun, yes. Challenging, no. That applies to both games.
airport ceo is a deep game! i do agree with you that people are saying its sooo complex and it is to a point. ( and the youturbers why are thay sooooo stupid! ) ( also skeystorm says that the game is in alpha and then criticize everything! )
