At the moment, i think that they have no function in the game.

They provide a visual guide slope referance to touchdown, approx 500 ft fm end point on a short rwy, to the pilot. The angle and t/d reference is based on the surrounding elevation.

In this game they don't matter, I'm sure if the developers include weather (like fog) it'll matter. I use them often when landing planes.

They're key in making sure you don't....die on landing lol
