Empty treasure chests in the WOW factory

I started the quest to repair the sewage pipe and am currently exploring the WOW factory. To my surprise I found two completely empty orange treasure chests so far.
One of them had during previous playthroughs up until the last updates always contained the game cartridge for 'Prototype'.
I will keep exploring whether this bug has befallen all of the orange chests.
The silver-blue chests seem to be normal so far.

Edit: 3rd orange treasure chest confirmed to be empty as well. Got stuck in the WOW factory at the moving platforms and had to go back to the main menu.
