Factory and Banquet Table : the impossible match
Tried to create a Banquet Table from the Factory, told me I had "1 hour 58 m", it was a week ago.
I have all the raw materials needed.
I can see 176/16 skiver and nothing seems to move.

I was wondering how the system works.
I of course cannot really have 176 skiver, is that the blocking point? I just thought it was an indication that it would take slower.

How does the factory works anyway? Does it go directly from raw material to the final product, and if so, how is the progression saved. I thought the factory would just automatically create intermediate products, but it does not seem to be the case here. Am I missing something? I'm thinking this is a bug.

Hello Linio,

Lets see if we can get this Banquet Table build for you. Do you have all the raw matierials stored in your storage box in the factory (Next to the Factory WorkTable)?

So do you have the plant fiber, honeybee wax and mucus stored in the Factory Storage Box.
Can you send us a screenshot of the Banquet Table page in the Factory Worktable?

Kind Regards

Hey team, hi!

Here's the magic screenshot:

I could leave it like that and it will never change, nor create anything.
As you can see I have all the materials.

To be fair, there are workaround for this, so if you have time (and if I'm not being rude), I'd rather you fix the broken achievements... ;)

Thanks for reading!

Hi,

Thank you for sharing the screenshots with us.

The red colors on the left mean that you need to place more grinder, cutter and skiver station in your factory to craft this item.

Please try to do this and let us know if it works for you.

Thanks,

Well... thanks but no thanks. XD
The number indicates 176 skivers.
Do you really intend me to craft 16 advanced skivers just to do this?

I don't think you really did the math there ;)
Actually if I wanted to do it, my factory couldn't hold all the stations needed.

I don't really understand how the factory is supposed to be working, but it seems counterintuitive there.

Again, there are workarounds, but it should maybe be a bit clearer to people than red means no go, because to me red means "waiting for stations to free up" (which is the case for the other situations).

Also, I could easily do it by myself, it's a pity that the factory is not set up to be able to do it "automatically". Again, I won't die for this, I'm more annoyed by the other bugs as stated in my previous posts.

Thanks for the answer.
At least I know it does not work.

When creating an item, it doesn't go through the steps, such as Worn Fur to Fiber Cloth to Waterproof Cloth to Banquet Table. It goes directly from Worn Fur to Banquet Table and uses as much machine power as those steps would have required if done simultaneously.

If you insert 160 Fiber Cloth into the factory, your Skiver problem will be solved since you have 16 Skiver for the Waterproof Cloth step, but you'll still need more cutter power for the planks and grinders for the pipes. Either add more machines for them or add the planks and pipes separately.

Again, there are workarounds, but it should maybe be a bit clearer to people than red means no go, because to me red means "waiting for stations to free up" (which is the case for the other situations).
I agree with this. If there aren't enough materials to make something, it will say "Not enough materials" when you look under the processing tab. For instances like this banquet table, it needs to give a similar message when you look in the processing tab to let people know that item isn't progressing.

Thanks for confirming my thought RAD-82. It was what I figured and wanted to try, and now what I know I will do and it will work!

Well...
There are several bugs with this actually.

Experienced a new one that pissed me a bit off since I lost a whole day because of it.
So I did like RAD-82 said, created the Fiber Cloth and relaunched the table.
As planned had the 16 Skivers and it started to craft.
Now I launched other stuff on the factory (without even skivers in them), I'm back to 176/16, and all my fiber cloth (and I'm assuming the rest of the stuff for the recipe) are gone, and the banquet table is stuck again... This time at 39m.

That definitely looks like a bug. With all of the Fiber Cloth used up, it seems to have forgot that it was using it and it reverted the requirements to the Worn Fur.

I don't know if this would work to get it going again, but try adding a piece of Fiber Cloth into the factory. Kill some Mr. Ladybugs for it if you don't have an extra one around. (or buy from Carol, forgot about her.)

I don't see how it would, there was no more fiber cloth I don't think one more would have done the trick.
Anyway, already reloaded and did the table manually.
I still think this should be fixed...

I was just trying to repeat the bug in the other direction. It's alright that you didn't try it. I just tested it myself and it didn't work. It needed the full 160 to change the requirement back.
Team17_Help Mar 29, 2019 @ 8:56am
The factory needs to use a skiver 176 times to make 160 fiber cloths and 16 waterproof cloths, thus it needs more skivers to be installed in the slots. As it involves too many machines in the production process, it's much easier for you to craft the item on a normal Worktable. The factory can be more effective for some processing and crafting, especially if you'll keep optimizing its automation, but it can be less effective with others.

Our apologies for any confusion.

There may have been some confusion, but we did find an actual bug.

Checking the progress on an item in production shouldn't try to recalculate the required machine power. With the fiber cloth already consumed to start the production, it recalculated with the worn fur and thought it needed 176 skiver instead of 16 skiver. You can also put 16 waterproof cloth into the factory mid-production of the banquet table, and it will recalculate to zero skiver needed and free up machine power when you check the progress.

Exactly what said RAD-82 (and btw sorry I did not wanted to be rude, thanks for actually checking this and seeing there is a bug for me, and 96%..., impressive mate).

And to be fair, if something isn't doable, it shouldn't be shown, so although honestly it's very minor, even the whole "you can't do it because you don't have enough machines" is not really a good answer in my opinion. I don't really get why it wasn't coded as a system that would just add several lines of productions to produce missing/intermediate items and ultimately the item you chose in the first place, it would be easier to understand, and not bug...

So yeah, I did what I had to do, but as RAD-82 said, there IS a bug there, it removes the item and utlimately if you craft something else, it breaks.
