MY TIME AT PORTIA Can't complete mission: photos of portia
Hi there, I've been having trouble with a photo mission that you get from Mei: Photos of Portia. I got the printing press and the photo with Mei, but I can't seem to get the photo of the exterior of Portia Times.. Every time I take the picture I can get the green check mark, but I always end up getting this message...

"There's already a similar photo, do you want to overwrite it in this collection? (the photo will be saved elsewhere if you choose not to overwrite)" At the bottom of this there are options to confirm or cancel. I confirm it and nothing happens, the mission doesn't proceed.

(my photo album is empty, I've verified my game with steam, and I've deleted extra picture that have been sent to my game file in my documents...)

If anyone has an Idea I could try to fix this that would really help me out!! Thank you :)

Hi Sheephub,

We are sorry to hear that you're having the issue with Photos of Portia mission.

May I ask if you were trying to modify the Documents/Portia/ScreenShots folder's content previously before the problem showed up?

Can you please try to uninstall and then reinstall the game?

We're looking forward to your reply.

Oh thank you for replying so quickly! Although I'm worried that uninstalling the game would delete my save data.. Would that happen or am I safe to uninstall it without worry that my last save data would still be there for me. I really don't want to start over is the thing...

Hi,

The saved data are stored up here C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Pathea Games\My Time at Portia and they won't be removed if you uninstall the game. You can back up the folder if you wish, but there's no need to do that.

I went into the file where the extra photos are stored and deleted the extras but that's the only thing I've done with the files for My Time At Portia. I thought clearing up photos would clear up room to take a new photo for the mission.

Hi,

We would not suggest deleting those files as you might encounter problems with photos in your album after that. If you stored copies of the files somewhere, then please place them back in the folder.

So we can better investigate the cause of the issue we would like to request that you please send us your last save file directly to help@team17support.com. Please attach also a link to this thread.

You can find My Time At Portia save files in the following directory:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Pathea Games\My Time at Portia

We're looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for all your help with this! unfortunately I don't know how to find that file, and don't know where to look for it... I got to the my time at Portia file but couldn't see any saved data files...

Hi,

You can find the save file in your computer by following this path:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Pathea Games\My Time at Portia

The numbers in the files names correspond to the character date and time, save file date and time and also ingame date and time. Please pick the right file and attach to an email, if you can.

Thank you,

I also am having this same problem. What I discovered is that in the first photo mission, we were tasked with taking a photo of a Dee-Dee Stop. I captured the Dee-Dee Stop out side of the Research Center. The requirement in the first photo mission was satisfied, but now for this second photo mission, I am tasked with taking a photo of the exterior of the research team but each time that I take the photo I get the same message as Sheephub, "There's already a similar photo, do you want to overwrite it in this collection? (the photo will be saved elsewhere if you choose not to overwrite)". I suspect that this second mission requirement will not be satisfied because of the Dee-Dee Stop photo also has the research center in it. :(

Hi AveCurious,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Are you having the green checkbox on the building while taking the photo of the Research Centre?
What happens when you press 'no' to the overwrite question?

Get back to us as soon as you can.

Hi,

I am also encountering the same problem. I have taken pictures of the front of the press office with the green mark on it. Whenever I save the image, I get a notification on whether I should overwrite it or not. If I opt to overwrite it, the quest still does not register. And when I attempt to not do it, nothing happens. It just cancels as normal (no notification of being saved at all). I do notice that the lamp post beside the board gets highlighted all the time whenever the green check pops up.

I have done most of what the previous posters had done and the problem still persists. Help. I really like this game and I hope to continue to finish this mission. Thank you!

For those who are encountering this problem, I had found a solution. You need to stand far away from the office. I had to stand beside the tree in the middle of central plaza. You should be able to see a green check as you try to take a picture, zooming in or out in a different angle. Take a picture of the whole building as possible.

hope this helps!

I had the same issue, I had the checkmark and took the picture. When I looked in the photo album it was registering the picture as a portia street light, when I made sure the light was not in the picture, the photo registered as the portia times and let me satisfy the mission requirements.
Hope that helps
