Mouse Cursor Forced To Center Issue.
During the startup screens, the mouse is visable and react perfectly. Upon arriving to the menu, however, the mouse cursor promptly resets to the center of the screen each time I try to move away to click a menu button. I can work around to exit the game by holding down the right click button and then left clicking on exit, but this of course makes the game unplayable. I tried entering the game to see if the problem only existed on menu screens but was met by the same issue in game. A bit frustrating because, when I tested it, this issue only exists on My Time At Portia, and no other. Solutions?

I was getting really angry with this issue and your answer solved it for me!
My Xbox 360 controller is really old and worn and the analog stick has a deadzone. That's what was making my cursor recenter.

Thanks for this! =)

Hello SlothBacon,

We are sorry to hear this has happened. Can you please clean boot your PC: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows and then verify your game files? Then see if this issue happens again.

Can you also tell us what mouse you are using as well?

Thanks,
Team17 Support

have you try to use Tab+Alt to switch from game to the desktop and switch back?

I appreciate the response. Prior to my post I had performed the recommended fixes.

After some time troubleshooting, clean booting, verifying game files, reinstalling drivers, etc..etc..., I discovered that my Xbox 1 wired controller was plugged in. This does not interrupt my other games, so I never thought to disconnect it. After disconnecting my game controller from my USB port, the issue quickly disappeared. I much prefer to use my keyboard and mouse for this game so I was elated at the immediate resolution. In future play sessions of this particular game, I always disconnect my controller. It would seem that the software gives a priority to the game controller and eliminates the mouse when it is detected. That is simply speculation as I know little when it comes to developing a game. Im sure there is a workaround to this as other publishers have been succesful in allowing mouse and keyboard movement during a game.

I know that this is still early development and I believe you are doing a spectacular job so far. I am sure you will log this resolution away as a possible troubleshoot step in the future.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks for the answer. I have an xbox 360 controller plugged in as well. I didn't need to unplug it but just move the joystick a bit so it wasn't registering as 5% off center or so.
