Amber Island Cave bug/problem

Hey,
I was doing the looking quest in the ambers cave, but after placing the item into this machine I had to go home. I left the cave and came back the following day. I entered but the big orange door was closed, so I wasnt able to get into the needed quest area. Does anybody know something about it? Can I restart a quest?

I have this exact same issue. I accidentally exited near the end of the cave, not realizing that's what that portal did, so I went back in and can't get past the door. :/

I deleted my game and started new. There is no way to open the door. Next month, they will add an new patch. It should work then, but since I have much time, I just restart it. There is also a glitch to duplicate items. So you can get to the cave pretty fast.

Thanks for the reply, I restarted my progress.
I am playing on the Nintendo Switch. After a lot of research, I found out, that this is a problem which also happened in the earlier pc version. But with the new patch for the switch it should work again. The players just shouldnt leave the amber cave if they entered it.

I know it's a nuisance but just reload the save from the beginning of the day.

for everyone wondering
If you left the area before the last battle there is a teleporter right at the entrance outside the cave which brings you back to the last battle
