It's normal that your hairstyle changes when putting on a cap. Some people already asked about that a while ago, and the devs told them, that it is happening intentionally. (Even though I hate this "feature" as well. My character has LONG hair, so stop changing my hairstyle everytime I put on a cap.. That's such a lazy solution. -.-)
We are sorry to hear that you're having issues with My Time At Portia on Switch.
The team is aware of this crash harvesting giant crops. If you have Ack's help around the farm, please disable harvesting crops in Helper Options of the Home Panel (next to the door on the wall).
This is an issue that will be resolved in the upcoming update.

Can you please clear your Nintendo Switch cache and after these steps check if you can enter the ruins without issues?
To clear your cache please open System Settings on the HOME Menu, then select System ⇒ Formatting Options ⇒ Clear Cache. Select the user you'd like to clear the cache for, then follow the on-screen instructions.
