Why is my horse perpetually angry at me?
I bought the white horse and trained it up. I have its trough filled with lettuce at all times. I pet it every day. Now, for some reason, it's forever angry and I have no idea why. The happiest it'll get is the orange/yellow somewhat angry face. It used to be so happy all the time when I first got it... what did I do? Why do you hate me so?

Edit: If your horse is angry, just starve it and it'll be happy. You literally don't have to feed it at all in the current build for some reason, whilst feeding it something it doesn't like will make it angry. It would apparently prefer to eat nothing at all than something it doesn't like.

Well I know it sounds weird, but I've only been able to keep my mounts happy by NOT feeding them.

My white horse is happiest with wheat .... The rest sounds like you're doing what you're supposed to be doing.

I've never fed my horse, it is still happy and loyal

Thanks all. I'll try not feeding it and see how that works out. If it's still unhappy I'll try the other suggestions. Hopefully it'll stop hating me.

My brown horse lives on wheat. It is quite happy.

An update: The horse, like others have said, currently doesn't even need to be fed to be at max hapiness. It is now no longer angry with me and very happy, I have not fed it anything for over a week.

Mine is always mad and disloyal, lol.

experimented with a dozen and a half different possible feeds. Horse will eat some other things, if nothing is available that it really likes. And it'll be grumpy. Wheat is what horse wants, went from grumpy to happy in no time at all.

the horse is happy on wheat. Also, I think he doesn't like being kept out all night. So if you plan on working until 3 am, send him back ("return") before you enter the mine, or around 2:30 if you're otherwise out. He'll go back to your stable (if you own him) or the front of your house if you're renting.

So the trick to winning someone’s love is by starving them? Weird how that didn’t work out for the aristocracy during the French Revolution, lol

Actually, the Brits were incredible in that respect. Their skilled handling of the potato famine in Ireland is why Dublin is so fond of being in the UK (or not).

Is horse happiness in any way related to horse loyality, btw? The loyalty goes up a lot by petting it the maximum 3 times every day.
